Among other things, the breed is also forced to change by inter-examination conducted at almost all central exhibitions in the country, of course, when we entrust it with authoritative, world-famous judges, specialists in our breed.
The exhibition, for true connoisseurs and qualified “breeders”, is primarily a livestock event, a demonstration and analysis of the results of pairings and the selection of worthy animals for further breeding. Foreign experts, working in our rings, still make discounts on the transitional moment in becoming a type in our country, but the leaders in the rings are undoubtedly representatives of the “new” Dobermans, who meet the tastes of judges and the requirements of the international standard.
Our task is to make the domestic Doberman competitive in Europe and the World, to conduct breeding correctly, without repeating the mistakes made in breeding other breeds (I didn’t accidentally talk in detail about the German and East European Shepherd dogs), and the support and help of foreign Dobermanns will speed up the decision this task. An attentive owner inspects the dog’s paws after each walk, combining this with wiping or washing. This allows you to quickly detect small cuts and punctures (in which, sometimes, small glass fragments remain), traces of fuel oil and similar substances that can lead to poisoning if the dog licks them, as well as broken claws.
To protect Doberman paws from the negative effects of gravel, asphalt, sand, ice, snow, salt, chemical treatment of roads and uneven hard surfaces, special protective creams for paw pads should be used. Such creams also contribute to the healing of cracks and abrasions, and have a protective and moisturizing effect.

General appearance and character.
A dog of the Doberman breed should be medium in size, muscular and strong physique, but not too massive. Thanks to the elegant lines of his body, proud and slender posture, temperamental behavior and decisive actions, he corresponds to the ideal idea of a dog with a normal anatomy. Doberman is usually friendly, peaceful, very attached to the family and loves children. Moderate temperament, moderate spite and moderate excitability are preferred. Along with obedience and hard work, the Doberman should pay attention to the presence of a protective and military instinct, courage and firmness of character. Of particular importance for the assessment is self-confidence and fearlessness while maintaining a sensitive attitude towards others.
Sizes and weight.
The following sizes for dogs of the Doberman breed are provided: height at the withers 68-72 cm for males, 63-68 cm for females. Medium size is desirable. The total length of the trunk, measured from the sternum to the tubercle of the ischium, is on average. 7 cm. Weight in males: about 40-45 kg. Females have about 32-35 kg. Continue reading
