Doberman. Dog vaccines
If you take the Doberman puppy in the car, take someone with you to hold the puppy in his arms – he will be calmer. Take a couple of towels and an old sweater with you to wrap your puppy – it will be more convenient for him. It is worth recalling that such a large puppy, such as an eight-week-old Doberman, is risky and even dangerous while driving in a car to leave unattended and not to keep.
On the way home, talk with the puppy and remember that during the trip he should not be let out of the car. It is best to go straight home and arrange your puppy there as soon as possible. On arrival, feed him warm milk and let him meet you. Let the little Doberman wander around: after all, he feels very unusual and lonely – he lacks his mother, brothers and sisters.
Now that, finally, you really have a beautiful, attractive Doberman puppy with meek eyes, a chubby belly and excessively large paws at home, give him the opportunity to get to know you. Let him walk around the room and discover her scent. When he comes to you, let him sniff you. Scratch the puppy’s ears and pat him, and then for a short period of time do not pay attention to him. Teach your children how to properly hold a puppy. You never need to lift it “by the scruff of the neck”, but the Doberman puppy is always raised gently with two hands: with one hand they take it under the chest, holding the elbows on top with the thumb, and grasp its hind limbs with the other hand. You do not need to poke your fingers in his delicate tummy. It is best not to let young children take the puppy while he is still very young in his arms for fear of dropping him.
The Doberman is apparently lacking in his mother and, most likely, he will whine on the first night or the first two nights. Then wrap the hot water bottle in a wool blanket or towel and place it under his blanket. Also wrap the ticking clock and put it on the bedding for added comfort: they will resemble a puppy’s mother’s heart. Arrange it properly on the first night, and you will have no reason to wake up and get up at night.
When purchasing a puppy, its new owner should be aware that the responsibility for the life and health of a small creature lies entirely with him. In other words, you must do everything necessary to know how to properly feed, maintain and protect it from possible diseases. But if recommendations on feeding and keeping dogs can be found in numerous books and brochures, obtained from breed leaders or kennel owners, then there are a lot of conflicting opinions on how, what and when to vaccinate a Doberman puppy.
Despite the abundance of recommendations, there is no doubt about the fact: vaccination is associated with the biology of the formation of the immune defense in a puppy. This means that at the age of 14-15 weeks (before the start of the tooth change) the puppy should be vaccinated twice against plague, parvovirus enteritis (“olympia”), adenovirus hepatitis and leptospirosis. At the age of one year, a third vaccination against the same infectious diseases is necessary. But to vaccinate a dog, you need a vaccine or vaccination, as many animal lovers call it. Today, vaccines of both domestic and foreign production are offered, as they say, in the assortment of specialized and not very pet stores, pharmacies, and numerous distributors of veterinary drugs.
We will try to give the most general recommendations where to buy vaccines and how to apply them.
First and foremost. All foreign veterinary products imported into Russia must be registered with the Veterinary Department of the Ministry of Agriculture. Without this, their official import into the country is impossible. Accordingly, if the seller of the vaccine was unable to present you with a registration certificate, most likely this drug was transported across the border in a pocket way, which, of course, affects its quality. After all, all biological preparations require a certain storage mode (usually in the range of + 2-8 C).
In addition, each batch of imported vaccines must undergo a second Russian quality control at VGNKI of veterinary drugs, as evidenced by the corresponding passport (in other words, a kind of quality certificate) with the obligatory indication of the batch number of the drug. Do not be too lazy to look at the seller and this document, checked the serial number in the passport with the serial number on the vaccine bottles. Such meticulousness will largely protect you from acquiring a poor-quality drug.
Another very important question: what vaccine and at what age to vaccinate a puppy? If you decide to use domestic drugs for vaccination, you just need to carefully read the instructions for their use, which should be in every box with the vaccine. If your choice is limited to imported drugs, the situation is somewhat complicated.
