The published expert advice, like many other recommendations, are general in nature, are an account of the basic principles, methods of practicing one or another skill. For example, they are ideal for training puppies whose parents are of excellent character, have passed rigorous and complex tests, are well trained, as these puppies genetically inherited a strong character, strong nerves, courage and courage. If we are dealing with puppies timid, unsure of themselves, or your contact with the puppy is not very close, you need an individual approach, a softer and more sparing mode of education. It is better if the puppy at the beginning of the “primary education” does not feel the sharp differences between the game, the usual communication and training. Educate playing, play educating.
For someone who intends to compete with his dog, it is very important to teach her how to bark as soon as possible. This is necessary when detecting an attacker or identifying the victim. At first glance, it may seem that it is more convenient for everyday life to have a dog that is silent on command, rather than barking. But no! In order to raise a civilized dog that will remain silent under any circumstances (or after the first demand of the owner: “Keep quiet!” It is necessary for her to understand: “keep quiet” means “do not bark”, and for this you should first teach her to bark on command. There are two ways to work out this command.
Free barking. Your young student will often bark at their peers during a game or at some object in your garden. Take advantage of this, cheer him up, repeating in a low voice: “Good, voice, good, voice.” After some time, order him: “Be silent,” while holding his face slightly in his hands. Praise, give a treat and go play with him in another place. A few lessons will be enough for you: your dog will quickly understand what the words “voice” and “keep silent” mean.
Provoked barking. Using this method, you will achieve the result in a few days. But you should use it only when your puppy is hungry, that is, before eating (always in the same place – where you feed him) or during the game. It is better if you are alone so that the puppy is not distracted.
Very calmly show the puppy his bowl without giving it. Choose a piece of meat that is so desirable for your little hungry four-legged friend, bring this piece to the very nose of the puppy, repeating in a whisper: “Voice, voice.” You will get the result in 1-2 minutes! It is very important that you repeat the command always quietly, in a whisper, but interested, as if “enticing”. Bring to the highest point the impatience of the dog to get a treat, you will see that very soon she will not stand it and will demandingly bark. At the slightest sound made by the puppy, praise him, immediately give this coveted piece, saying first: “Good!”, And then when trying to bark the puppy, immediately give the command “be silent!” Soon you will be able to demand a clearer bark from him before you give the treat. It’s very simple: pretend you didn’t hear it (“Louder! More! Voice!”). Then, in the same low voice as they said: “Voice!”, You can try to say to the dog: “Be silent!”. To your surprise, you will soon notice that after the team she does not bark – that means she understands everything correctly.
Gradually, you will get a longer bark from the puppy, as well as the execution of this command from a distance. It goes without saying that as soon as the skill is mastered, it is necessary that the team is carried out on demand and without dainty. Do not forget, however, to praise the dog for each correctly executed command.
During the first lessons you may encounter some difficulties:
– You can’t get a voice from the dog – double your efforts to arouse the puppy’s impatience, show him a piece of meat, touch the delicacy to his very nose, saying quietly in the ear: “Voice, voice”;
– Your dog is tired: exercises should not be too long and repeated. During the first lessons, be content with the slightest sound made by a dog, and in case of failure, give food not immediately, but after a while. The next day, resume the lesson.
As I have already noted, the easiest way to work out this command is always in the same place: a clear connection will be established in the dog’s mind between the place and the command. In this regard, it will faster and more often execute your command. However, your dog can learn this exercise so clearly that it will one day give a voice without a command. In this case, scold her, go with her to another place and interrupt classes until the next day.
From now on, you should give the dog a voice command every time in a new place.
Team “to me.” It is imperative that the dog fulfills the owner’s command “to me” under any circumstances and at the first request.
