В гостях у питомника доберманов “Tahi-Reme”
At the request of the Doberman magazine, I asked several questions to the owner of the nursery, Erica Sokol.
– A few words about Tahi and your family.
– Tahitotfalu – a small town with a population of 300,000 inhabitants located on the Danube River, 25 km from Budapest. The river divides the village at the bottom of the part. Tahi is a very beautiful hilly area, it is a popular holiday destination. In summer, many vacationers from all over Hungary come here for the weekend. We live in a large private house with a huge garden, it is ideal for keeping and kennel a large number of dogs. We like to live in this cozy rural place, which at the same time is located very close to the capital. We have two children – 12-year-old Adam and 10-year-old Christian, they, like us, love dogs, they grew up next to them.
In 1981, a puppy, a Doberman bitch, was presented to us for a wedding. It was our first dog, which, frankly, did not differ in its outstanding exterior, but we loved it very much. Once we drove her to an exhibition. The atmosphere of the exhibition made a great impression on us, and since then we have not missed a single Hungarian dog show. Two years later, in the litter of the first dog our champion was born.
The path to success was, however, long and difficult. If I had to start breeding now, then I would already know where to start in order to save time and material resources and not make fruitless attempts. Then we were too young – my husband is 21 years old, I am -18. We had neither experience nor means, but there was only one female with a very mediocre pedigree. However, even then, Dobermans sunk into our hearts. These, in our opinion, are the most noble, elegant and impressive dogs that are very loyal to their owners.
If I had the opportunity to start all over again, the first thing I would do was buy two bitches with a good pedigree from a well-known nursery. Thus, we could save 5-6 years. However, this period was not in vain; it gave us great experience and, ultimately, favorably affected the breeding of dogs in our kennel as a whole.
Since 1983, we have been able to take part in other important dog shows abroad. Moreover, we began to knit our bitches with foreign producers and, thus, our success in breeding slowly, steadily went to improve.
Of course, this required more work, huge energy, since we had to travel a lot, travel to the West, and these trips were very expensive. It is much more difficult to raise a good dog in Hungary, which will be of interest in Europe than in the West – this requires a lot of effort and material costs.
A total of 30 litters were received in the nursery; 24 of them are from foreign manufacturers from Italy, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France and Austria.
– Which dogs from your kennel have gained fame in Hungary and abroad, and who can you call the pride of your kennel?
– The first litter from Count Quirinus c. Niirlands Stam appeared in our cattery 8 years ago. The bitch from this Tahi-Reme Gin litter was exported to Germany and has proven itself in exhibitions. She gave some puppies champions.
Tahi-Reme Judy (Ibis F. Fran-kenhorst – Naplemente-Tinti) was born 6 years ago. She became one of the best female breeders, but unfortunately she had already died. Our first Interchampion Tahi-Reme Lerry (Homon di Campovanano – Naplemente Tinti) is 5 years old.
His sister Liz gave a very successful “W-litter from Quirinus, from which five puppies subsequently received CACIB.
Currently, Liz is expecting puppies again.
Tahi-Reme Nurza (Count Guido f. Frankenhorst – Tahi-Reme Judy) is a very elegant show dog with several CACIB. She shows up very well and looks in the ring. She already has, from my point of view, a very successful “C” litter from Count Quirinus. Nieirlands Stam. Puppies are now a little over a year old. We are currently expecting a litter from her again.
Portos Nico (Mapuenburg’s Dark Daimler – Tahi-Reme Judy) in April this year won in Nuremberg (Germany). Portos’s littermate – Paco – also won several exhibitions in Hungary.
Our dogs, which are the descendants of Count Quirinus, received the greatest fame. Niirlands Shtam and Tahi-Reme Liz: Tahi-Reme Valley (IDC 1096 Junior Class Winner), multiple winners of Tahi-Reme Wanda, Tahi-Reme Vincikcho, Tahi-Reme Vello (winner of the World Exhibition in Budapest and having many other victories , lives in Moscow).
A successful litter was received from Gomon di Campovanano and Tahi-Reme Nina: repeated winner of the exhibitions Tahi-Reme Xindi and Tahi-Reme Xaro (Xindi littermate), who lives in Moscow and has many titles. All of them are the pride of our nursery.
Also very promising young dogs of the kennel. These are puppies from Nurza and Count Kvirinus: Caramel and Kok living in Hungary; Casper lives in Russia, Clyde lives in Germany, their brother is in Ukraine.
