DOBERMAN – ALL ABOUT FAVORITE BREED
How it all started
Hmm … I don’t even know where to start.
I wrote and laughed out loud. It would be trivial and wrong to write right away that the Doberman is the best dog the best dog of all breeds in the world, because for each owner his dog is the best and cannot be otherwise. But for me and my family this is exactly so. Doberman is beyond any competition.
How did it all start? It all started with the fact that the daughter was presented with a sum of money for the new year, for which she could choose and buy herself a gift. She decided to buy a kitten. They chose a breed, went to watch, wonderful gray fluffy British, but … no emotions. None of the family members. We looked, stroked and refused. And then the donated amount remained, having settled in the daughter’s piggy bank, accumulated and accumulated, and one fine day we thought and decided to buy a dog. So, a sharp transition – we ourselves are still surprised. They began to choose a breed, and it happened (later there will be many events that I will directly or indirectly point specifically to the Doberman and to a specific puppy), that our choice settled on the Doberman.
Doberman First of all, the elegant appearance of the Doberman conquered, not even, a kind of combination of power and elegance, far from all breeds inherent. Only because of the external data of the breed and chose. This is only later, after a while, having grown and brought up our Dobermashka, we realized how deep mutual understanding can be found with it. How subtle she can feel all family members, catch their mood. To play and indulge with my daughter on the street, it seemed “having gone headlong into this matter” and immediately became completely serious and vigilant, react quickly and clearly to any suspicious situation around, picking up every suspicious rustle. How boundless her love and devotion is, how much she can be affectionate, attentive and sensitive, but at the same time decisive, bold and reliable, given the desire of the owners to maintain their independence. We were discouraged by all, without exception. “Complex, aggressive breed, too independent, bad character, too agile, capricious and angry …” and a lot of things. But we stubbornly headed towards the goal, despite all the conversations and troubles that piled on us at that time, despite the unwillingness of the Kennel Club (which is surprising) to provide any assistance in acquiring a Doberman puppy. We wanted, searched, re-read the ads a lot, connected friends from other cities and unexpectedly found. In just two days.
By calling the indicated phone, it turned out that there was just a dobermash – a girl, 2.5 months old, but black and tan. And we really wanted chocolate … We decided to just go and see, at least in order to have an idea of how small Dobermans look like live. Let’s go with the whole family: me, husband and daughter. Having reached the place and going into the courtyard of a private house, such a charming creature jumped out to us, with ears recently cut and turned upside down, trying to wag its tail, but wagging the whole booty in general … we were amazed. I still remember this moment now, although more than two years have already passed. My daughter crouched. The creature licked her from head to foot and began to invite to play, bending her front legs and winding circles around her.
Then the puppy’s eyes hit me. Before that, I had not seen such eyes in any dog. Subsequently, at exhibitions we will read in the descriptions of some judges: “… beautiful expressive eyes,” etc. These eyes were richly brown, shiny and at the same time moist, just like a doe; framed by black and rather long cilia. It was impossible to tear oneself away from these eyes, so the puppy’s gaze was conscious and meaningful, despite the shy twinkling sparks in them prevailing and the little devils jumping in them. Professional dog breeders can smile after reading this, that you had to look at the exterior and more. And I looked into my eyes, and something inside told me that this puppy is the future member of our family, believe me, it happens.
